SOC 2 Type I or Type II?
Type I checks that your controls are designed properly at a point in time. Type II checks that they worked over a period, usually 3 to 12 months. Many teams start with Type I to unblock a deal, then move to Type II, which most enterprise buyers ask for.
SOC 2 or ISO 27001 first?
Follow your buyers. US enterprise buyers usually ask for SOC 2; international and EU buyers often prefer ISO 27001. If you sell to both, OneAudit runs them together. Use the framework guide.
